Welcome to Development Assistance Database Afghanistan |
The Transitional Government of Afghanistan has developed a Donor Assistance Database (DAD) as a core service for the Government Ministries, the international assistance community and the Afghan people. It seeks to provide a clear overview of all aid provided to Afghanistan, broken down project-by-project. The database shows how much assistance is being provided to each of the 12 National Development Programmes and 2 National Security Programmes, such as livelihoods, health, education and transportation, and which provinces are receiving assistance. The DAD seeks to be as comprehensive as possible, and includes assistance provided within the framework of the National Budget, and any other projects of a significant size.
The main objective of the DAD is to assist the Government in its coordination efforts, to ensure that aid flows in accordance with government priorities to where the needs are greatest and to reduce any duplication of assistance. The government is committed to openness and transparency in its management and recording of assistance. For this reason, the Donor Assistance Database is posted here on the Internet, and can be accessed by the assistance community, the national and international media, and, when Internet access in Afghanistan improves, by the Afghan people themselves in English and Dari.
The strong support of the assistance community in providing data to ensure transparent, accountable and efficient use of aid is recognised and welcomed by the Transitional Government, including the contribution of the United Nations Assistance Mission to Afghanistan (UNAMA). |
